Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant
A neutral cure silicone rubber sealant with excellent adhesion to most common construction materials usually without the need of priming. Readily extrudes over a wide temperature range and quickly cures to produce a durable adhesion. Suitable for use in dynamic applications such as expansion, perimeter and control joints, sealing of windows, precast concrete panels and stress cracks. Neutral cure sealant for also use with metal products (not including copper).

Directions:
1. The substrate surface must be completely clean, dry and sound. If in doubt, test adhesion in representative joint.
2. Mask adjacent surfaces. Where primer is required, apply recommended primer and allow to dry. Install approved back-up material.
3. Cut nozzle to desired size and apply sealant so that it completely fills the joint, wetting both sides.
4. Tool immediately after sealant application and remove masking before sealant skins.

Cleaning
Uncured sealant may be removed from nonporous surfaces with a cloth dampened with mineral turpentine. Uncured sealant on porous surfaces should be allowed to cure and be removed by scrapping or trimming with a blade.

What materials can I use the Zero Max Silicone Sealant with?

Our silicone sealants can be used for expansion joints and general perimeter caulking of windows, doors, frames, precast and tilt-up panels.

For example:

  • Waterproofing showers, bathtubs, sinks, and tiles.
  • Bonding glass, metal, wood, ceramic, and plastic surfaces

Can you paint over silicone sealant or apply new silicone sealant over old one?

We offer a range of colours to match the material and surface you are using the silicone sealant with.  We do not recommend painting or applying silicone sealant over an old application. Some problems will occur as it will not stick well to itself as well as applying over any mold or dirt will cause your application to degrade.
